Sorona® is a polymer developed by DuPont, through its sixty years of R&D and innovation. Using the latest non-edible plant glucose starch extract to produce Sorona polymer materials. It not only gives the unique properties of fibers and fabric, but its revolutionary use of biotechnology to process the chemical fiber, in order to seek perfect textile combination of functional and environmental friendly. The mixed polymer with fiber and fabric, Sorona® will bring you inspiration and unprecedented value.

DuPont Sorona® can give the fiber and fabrics a soft touch, comfortable stretch and elasticity. As well as it being able to easily dye via standard temperature pressure boiling process, it should have bright and long lasting colors.Chlorine/UV resistance plus stain resistance, one of its unique character would be easy care where only water is required to splash and clean. Sorona® is known as ‘smart’ polymers, because it combines the characteristics of polyester and nylon in one, and be used extensively in the textile industry, and can be widely used in various types of clothing fabric.

The use of biochemical production for SORONA ® polymer has the following three environmental values:
1.37% of the raw materials come from natural renewable resources rather than petrochemicals and reduced dependence on oil resources.
2.the same production of Sorona® polymer, nylon-based polymer compared to petrochemical raw materials, Sorona ® is made in the latter is less than 30 percent of energy consumption.
3.the same production of Sorona® polymer, nylon-based polymer compared to petrochemical raw materials, Sorona ® is made in the latter is less than 63% of carbon dioxide emissions (ie greenhouse gases).
